Dan Lawson Returns to the Buffalo Chip Campground!

Buffalo Chip Campground blues fans know that Dan Lawson doesn’t just play a guitar.  He and his guitar tell a story of passion and soul  that has resonated with the Buffalo Chip’s Sturgis Rally crowd for two years.  He’ll be back in 2008.
Buffalo Chip music fans from around the United States and Canada may have seen him with blues greats Luther “Junior” Johnson, and Blues Brother Matt “Guitar” Murphy to name a few.
He was the runner-up in the 1999 Jimi Hendrix World Guitar Competition with his smoking rendition of “Red House.”  He was invited to perform at the “Rock To The Rescue Concerts” at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
His performances at the Legendary Buffalo Chip are among his most memorable. “My performance at the Chip was the highlight of my career so far. Never have I been treated with such hospitality and warmth as I was by the folks at the Chip.  Thanks Woody, Toni and Kevin!”
Besides headlining at some of the country’s most storied blues clubs, Dan has opened for some of rock’s greatest acts, including Sturgis Rally music fan favorites,  Grammy winner Mark Farner, a founding member of Grand Funk Railroad, Styx, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many more.
He also performed in 2008 at Daytona Bike Week.
This year, Dan’s experience, including his two weeklong performances at the Buffalo Chip during Sturgis Bike Week, was rewarded with a record deal with Gordon Mckay Entertainment and Strawhouse/Sony Records, the first major record deal for Dan and his band.  They’ve just completed their third CD effort and with hit singles like “Let’s Ride,” and “Just Ain’t Easy” (Courtesy of Gregg Allman), and “Yo Mama,” this CD is getting impressive airplay, that Buffalo Chip fans can likely hear on their local blues station.
“Let’s Ride,”  was licensed by ESPN’s “X-Games,” MTV’s “Road Rules,” and HBO’s “The Sopranos.”  Dan’s new CD is already ascending the charts in Europe.
Dan’s honesty, integrity, and professionalism have inspired his incredible band to complete this great CD in the time most bands take to write one song! The band clearly demonstrates their years of paying attention to musical evolution and invention!  This is of course what makes Dan a favorite among the Buffalo Chip’s Sturgis Rally music fans.
Dave Pratt of The Barnstable Patriot said, “The Blues run deep in the veins of  Dan “Lawman” Lawson. Strap his “1956 Stratocaster” on him and Lawson deftly opens those veins, letting his brand of high-energy boogie flow out with a fire and passion that would make “Clapton” proud.
