Alice Cooper made that statement just as he was inventing a new genre of rock.  It’s all about the theater and the music with Alice Cooper and crossing every line that’s put before him.  Cooper will bring his macabre show to the Legendary Buffalo Chip on Sunday, Aug. 3 during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Just as the bikers who come to the Sturgis Rally each year fancy themselves rugged individualists, Cooper is a one of a kind rocker who was was the first gender bending shock rocker to dress like a woman and change his name to a woman’s.  He crossed the sex and violence line long before any other rocker in history.  And, who else chops up babies with an axe?

His run for President against Richard Nixon was more outrageous than any other rocker of his time.  Buffalo Chip campers appreciate innovation.  He set trends.  He recognized them before they happened and he is one of the most innovative showmen ever to grace the Legendary Buffalo Chip’s stage.

He was the first flamboyant hoodlum of rock.  He created fashion trends and helped to spark a sexual revolution that continues today. He invented in-your-face punk attitude.

He set the standard that so many others followed, including Nine Inch Nails, Iggy & The Stooges, Lou Reed, Boy George, The Tubes, T. Rex, Guns N’ Roses, Kiss, Poison, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Twisted Sister and Aerosmith all owe homage to Cooper’s willingness to cross those lines in order to excite his audiences.
