Chief Greenbud

Entertaining Buffalo Chip Sturgis motorcycle rally goers in 2011, Chief Greenbud has taken his own personal experiences, along with shared stories from fans and friends and set them to song. With his sense of humor and gift for writing, Chief Greenbud has created something extremely unique and entertaining. His style has been described as "Cheech and Chong" meets "Jimmy Buffett", and once you hear the catchy melodies and insightful lyrics, you will understand why he is a crowd favorite wherever he performs.

Chief Greenbud's first live performance was in October, 2007 at the New Daisy Theater located on world famous Beale Street in Memphis, TN. It was during that performance he realized there was something different about his entertainment. "My first time playing was a total trip. I was opening for Muck Sticky. He is a Memphis Hip-Hop Artist who was recently featured on MTV's "5 Dollar Cover". There was a huge crowd of his fans there and here I am, an acoustic guitar playin', folky, singer/songwriter asking myself "Why am I opening for a HIP HOP ACT??". I took the stage anyway and after I sang the very first chorus everyone was laughing and cheering and clapping. That was the moment I knew there was something to this", Chief says.

The debut album "Chief Greenbud" was released in March of 2008. From The Mt. Tabor Theater in Portland, Oregon to Flipnotics in Austin, Texas, from "The Fools Ball Festival" in Mississippi to opening for Afroman in Crossville, Tennessee, Chief was in "high" demand. In September he was asked to return to Austin to perform at the 2008 GMMA's (Global Marijuana Music Awards). During the ceremonies, Chief Greenbud was presented with (2) awards. Best Acoustic Song for "Marijuana, Tennessee" and Best Male Artist for "Another Dry Day". He capped of the year back in Memphis at the New Daisy Theater. .... 2009 has just been over the top. In February, Chief received a nomination for a "High Times Doobie Award" for the Best New/Underground Artist as well as winning a 2009 GMMA for Best Acoustic Song. In March, he flew to California and performed at The Viper Room in Hollywood. May saw the release of "Chief Greenbud Vol. 2", and a return trip to Oregon to perform at the 9th Annual Million Marijuana March in Portland. In June, Chief performed at "Lakota Hemp Days" on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, where he got to hang out with Alex White Plume of the Oglala Lakota, the only hemp farmer in the United States. On June 20th, Chief Greenbud received additional accolades, this time from the AMMA's (American Marijuana Music Awards) when he was awarded (4) awards. Best Acoustic Song, Best Legalization Song, Best Comedy Song, and Best Male Artist.
