There could hardly be a more appropriate band to join Alice Cooper for a performance at the Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground than Puddle of Mudd.  The two innovators will play the Chip during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on Sunday, Aug. 3.

The Kansas City rockers continue to send hits to the number 1 slot on rock charts. The single “Psycho” from their third studion album, “Famous” has reached the top of the radio charts with a Number 1 in both the Active and mainstream Rock Radio charts.  It’s continuing it’s ascension up the Modern Rock chart as well reaching Number 6 in mid April.

In their first performance during the annual Sturgis Rally, bikers will be treated to a string of Puddle of Mudd hit that also include “Control,” “Blurry,” “Drift & Die,” “She Hates me,” “Away From Me,” “Heel over Head,” and “Spin You Around.”

Famous outperformed the market in March and April and continues to move strong up the Top 200 album charts. It was recorded in Los Angeles and Colorado.

Puddle Of Mudd is singer/guitarist Wes Scantlin, bassist Douglas Ardito and new members Christian Stone (ex-Campfire Girls) on guitar and Ryan Yerdon on drums.

Puddle of Mudd was among the first act to sign with Fred Durst’s Flawless Records label.  Durst is the frontman for Limp Bizkit. They one of the most successful alternative metal bands in the country.

Sturgis Rally metal fans will note the obligatory rage associated with Korn and Rage Against the Machine.  But, Scantlin's voice is sometimes similar to Nirvana's late Kurt Cobain, containing elements of good old fashioned hard rock.

The history of Puddle of Mudd's rise to popularity could provide the definition of being in the right place at the right time and with the right talent. Their major label debut album, Come Clean, sold more than 100,000 copies in its first week of release. The album went on to sell more than two million copies and remained on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart for more than a year.

Puddle of Mudd has supported their albums with an intensive tour that included slots with Korn and Staind.

The band is often described as down-to-earth and haven’t succumbed to the wretched excesses common to new rock bands on the road.  They concentrate their energy on their stage performance which is exactly what will electrify the appreciative crowd at the Legendary Buffalo Chip.
