Award winning country artists Sugarland will play at the Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground on Thurs., Aug. 7, during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Bringing Sugarland to the Buffalo Chip is consistent with the legendary Sturgis concert venue’s desire to bring the very best country artists for the many Sturgis Rally fans who love country, according to the campground’s owner Rod Woodruff.

“We’re now in our 27th year and from the beginning with Johnny Paycheck, we’ve tried to bring country’s top artists to the Chip.
Tanya Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry and Gretchen Wilson have all played our stage. Sugarland is just a natural for our Sturgis Bike Rally crowd,” Woodruff said.

The duo, which consists of pick jockey Kristian Bush and singer Jennifer Nettles has been tearing up the charts with their debut double platinum CD, “Twice the Speed of Life.”

About a year ago they were still a relatively unknown act when they received a standing ovation after their performance of their debut single, “Baby Girl,” at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

At this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, Sugarland was no longer an unknown. Jennifer’s sledgehammer, country-soul vocals and Kristian’s passionate harmonies and virtuosity, lead Sugarland to five nominations. Nettles was also nominated in the Vocal Event of the Year category for “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” her #1 duet with Bon Jovi.

Sugarland won the award for Top New Duo/Vocal Group.

They also landed a Best New Artist nomination at this year’s Grammy Awards, a category which includes all popular music genres. They also performed their hit “Something More” at the Grammy’s.

“We’re especially blessed that artists of Sugarland’s caliber want to play at the Buffalo Chip for our extremely appreciative Sturgis Rally audience,” Woodruff said. “It’s just going to be a great party.”

Also announced for this year’s Sturgis Bike Rally is Lynyrd Skynyrd.
They’ll play on Tuesday, Aug. 5. More information is available at www.buffalochip.com.
