In the past I have stayed in hotels but this year I am camping at the chip. What items do you recommend I bring pertaining to camping? What do others normally bring with them so to enjoy the experiance and to be prepared for any situation that might arise??? |

DO Bring: 1- Flashlight 2- Coffee Pot and small propane stove (styrofoam cups for your neighbors in the next tent can be picked up at the general store at the chip) 3- Sleeping Bag (it may be 100 degrees in the daytime, but it gets cold at night) 4- Tent (get a decent sized one and practice setting it up at home before you get to the Chip) 5- Tent stakes (it gets REAL windy, so don't rely on the little stakes that come with most tents or you will be trying to find your house when you get home after a long day of riding like I did my first time ) 6- Air mattress and pump (you will thank me) DON'T Bring: 1- Food that has to be cooked or warmed (there are plenty of places to eat at the chip or nearby) If you are tent camping, make sure you are familiar with the maps of the campground that are on the website- it will help a lot in picking out a good spot to set up camp. Be prepared to have the time of your life! Ride Safe and Have Fun! MG |

Great list to get you started. A couple of other suggestions would include 1. A "camp shower". This is a inexpensive plastic solar heated bag which comes in 3 and 5 gallon sizes. Sold in WalMart, camping stores, etc. This way you will always have your own hot water even if the showers run out. Take it right into the showers with you. Also allows you to wash up at your campsite if you want. 2. Earplugs. Some people have more endurance than the Energizer bunny when it comes to partying at the Chip. This way you can tune them out when you have had enough. 3. Good camping tent / tie down rope / line. Handy for clotheslines. etc. as well as tying your tent down. Do not use for any restraints involving humans or animals. Not NICE. Also pretty kinky for someone you are just meeting. 4. A 4' x 8', 5' x 10', 6' x12' etc. Silver or Blue Tarp with brass rings in each corner. This can create shade if you can't find any and it also can serve as your temporary bike cover. Use with rope in item #3. 5. Your MasterCard and / or Visa Card. You can buy anything you forget. 6. A sweatshirt for at night during concerts, sitting around the non existant campfire which generates no heat which is why you will need the sweatshirt. 7. Depending upon your Social Prowess, the 144 count bulk box of Magnums, and I am not talking about ammunition for a firearm. 8. Camp chair that folds down to about 4" in diameter and maybe 24" long, usually comes in its own carry bag. Usually under $15 or $20. Sitting on the ground or your bike gets very old after awhile. 9. A package of unscented baby wipes. Great for wiping off your hands instead of eating with them dirty. Also works great for washing face, etc. in the morning to rid of any unpleasant odors, etc. Seriously, these are very handy. Just get the unscented ones so you don't smell like a baby's ass all day. (See item 7) 10. Disposable cameras so you can take photos and not worry about losing your expensive digital camera. 11. LOT'S OF Aspirin, Headache Medicine, Sunburn stuff, bug stuff (Off) First Aid Kit. 12. At least two decks of cards for playing Texas Holdem or Blackjack at your tent. Remember, I get 75% of all wagered amounts and 75% of all winings. Please forward to my PayPal acct when you get home...... 13. BAIL CASH. Every offense except murder and drugs or drug paraphenalia has a Bail Amount. Also, DO NOT DRIVE ANYTHING AFTER DRINKING ALCOHOL. EVEN IF YOU THINK THAT IT WAS ONLY ONE BEER OR THAT "YOU ARE FINE". When in doubt, call the shuttle bus which runs all of the time to all major campgrounds and hotels. 14. Nutrition Bars, Granola Bars, anything that is good, healthy snack food that won't melt, spoil. You can't eat burgers, fries, hot dogs, pizza, etc. for ever without plugging your arteries, then dying. It is a major hassle for your buddies to have to haul your dead body home. All I can think of for now. As you walk around your home, look at the things around you and that you use. If you are sure you will NEED and USE it, then take it. The possible list is endless, just remember that you have to carry whatever you decide to take..... Good Luck and don' sewat |

Set out your clothes and your cash on your bed after you've packed everything else. Lose half the clothes............... Double the cash Oh yeah and don't forget to bring 1 roll of TP. Can be used for 1001 other things than the obvious, but you won't believe how much you'll thank me when you really do need it LOL |
