I kind of wish the admins would consider adding a Nation Wide Travel Section and break it up by regions so we can post safety information for everyone about construction, long term road hazzards like grooved roads or what not so on our travels to the great rally we can make our journey's safest as possible by knowing what is a head of us and know what to expect.

Just a single wish. I am not sure if the admins would be willing to grant this wish of one but maybe if interest of the many were posted is response to this topic it may show our mutuial concern for all and our selves on our annual journey.

This would also keep those topics pertaning to the journey fresh and not rolling to page 2 or page 50.

Can I get any other wishes for the same.

I see Nation Wide Travel section and for example a Rocky Mountain Sub section with the included states abbreviation to the sub section so we know where to look for our specific routes. The sub sections only pertaining to travel advisories so it remains as such the original purpose the section was designated for.

Can I get a 2nd and 3rd and so on and on and on so we can convey our respectful wishes to the admins for consideration.

It sounds like you have a great idea. You should start the post to do a breakdown that would be easiest to use. We really appreciate your participation.
Thanks

Mike,

Here is the break down I propose:

New main forum at the same level as General - Everything Else called "Nation Wide Road Report and Advisory"

Structure is:

Nation Wide Road Report and Advisory
West
Pacific
WA, OR, CA
Mountain
MT, ID, WY, NV, UT, CO, AZ, NM
Mid West
West North Central
ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, MD
East North Central
WI, IL, IN, OH, MI
South
West South Central
OK, TX, AR, LA
East South Central
KY, TN, MS, AL
South Atlantic
FL, GA, SC, NC, VA, WV, ND, DE, Washington DC
North East
Mid Altaltic
NY, PA, NJ
New England
VT NH, MA, CT, RI, ME

Forum
Cat (Region)
Sub Sub Cat (Stage Grouping)
Sub Sub Sub Cat (Individual states)

This break down would make it easier for our brothers and siters to have the easiest time researching the the states easier when preparing for their journey rather then clumping a lot of states together and forcing them to search and search and search for the information that pertains to their specific path. I know it is a lot of typing and I would be happy to assist if needed or if possible. I think this is the most accurate method so to maximize the greatest on it's potential.

At the conclusion of each rally the data is deleted as an archive isn't practical for the following year as conditions and status chances for the roads but in 07 it starts over and so on.

You thoughts sir

ALERT REGARDING I-94 / I-90 in Chicago area. In a very short summary, it is a mess. For those of you coming from the east on either I-80 or I-94 entering Illinois from Indiana, I would suggest that you take the SKYWay. Once on I-94 headed downtown Chicago, stay on I-94 to I-90.

TONS of construction, long delays. If at all possible, DO NOT enter the Chicago area later than 6:30 am Central tIME. Remember, Eastern Standard Time (as far as travelers are concerned) starts at the eastern Illinois border.

DO NOT ENTER the Chicago area later than 2PM Central Time. Again tons of traffic. Much of I-94 in downtown Chicago is torn up. Vast majority of Express Lanes on South side of Chicago are GONE. Torn up for road replacement. Most traffic on I-94 on southside of Chicago is down to less than 50% of normal road surface.

Also, remember that on Sunday nights, all traffic is returning to the city and suburbs.

Michigan traffic, as far as I-94 Kalamazoo west to Indiana state line is concerned, minor bridge work here and there. No delays.

I-196 from I-94, mostly clear to light construction.

Good LUCK (These are the ZZZZZ's you will sleep waiting in line for road construction)
