Just wondering what others thoughts are on the idea of a guy going by himself? I'm a teacher who will be off for the summer and I'm traveling the country for three months on 4-wheels. Figured this could be a last hoo-rah at the end of my journy before returning to Illinois. Always wanted to attend, been to other rallys before with a group and always had a good time. Obviously pretty independent, but going solo to an event this huge is a little intimidating...especially without a bike...will I be viewed as the outsider?? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Dough

I have gone solo both times I have been to the Chip. No problems at all, everyone is very friendly and there to have a good time.

Dough, You won`t be considered an outsider. I`ve been to Sturgis 4 times and I`ve been solo everytime and I have a great time. I prefer to be solo. Hell it`s the only time in the year when I get to do just what I want.:hehe: I go to bed when I want, I get up when I want. Eat; when; where whatever I want. If there is something I want to see I go see it. If there is something I don`t want to see, I don`t go see it. I don`t answer to nobody about nothin.:w00t: Plus nobody knows you so if you are naughty no one can tell on you:whistling:

No one is ever really alone at the rally. It is the biggest party anywhere with some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I've lived in the area all my life and even as a teenager was never afraid to be at the rally alone. I think you will have a great time.

:)I've been "Going Solo" to the "Chip" for the past 10 years and with out a bike for 8 of those 10 years. One of the greatest things about the "Chip" is that everyone there is a friend, you just haven't met them yet. Just don't be afraid to step up and say "Hello"! Everyonr at the "Chip" is there for one reason. To have one of the greatest times in their life. I can honestly say I have never had a bad time at the "Chip". Woody and the crew are some of the nices host you could ever want to meet. As far as being an "Outsider", We're all outsiders that come together as one for the "BEST PARTY ANYWHERE"! Wouldn't have it any other way!
