| I am looking for any tips or tricks for planning our first trip to Sturgis. I would love to hear from folks that have already been lucky enough to make the trip! |

Bring ear plugs to help you sleep. Don't plan too many things, as you will run out of time. Do plan rides as the roads are the greatest. Most of all have FUN. |

| I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but many people have told me that "Death in Sturgis" should be required reading before that first Sturgis/Chip experience! Plus, it brings back hundreds of memories once you're back home again! What do previous readers think? |

| This is the second person saying Death in Sturgis is a must read! We are from Michigan and just can't wait to go. I wish it were going to be this year but can't go till 2009. It will be our 30th anniversary and I am sure it will be a great time! |

detcord69 I'm not sure if we met or not. Looking forward to meeting you again. Do you tent or RV? Anyway keep safe and come on down to the party tent and I'll make sure there's a cold on waiting. |

No one else said it...so I will. Its classic advice. Bring half the stuff you were plannin to bring and twice the cash. All you really need is something to sleep in / on / and under. (if your cute and make friends easily you may not even need that) So good sleeping bag, some sort of mattress and a tent. It can get kinda nippy at night so a good sleeping bag is important. I bring a little thermorest backpacking air mattress. It fits nicely in my saddlebag. Finally a backpacking tent. There are lots of food vendors. The Christian bikers have a free pancake breakfast every morning. Everyone is real friendly...so don't be surprised if your neighbors start feeding you. I've had as many as 3 offers to "come have some breakfast" on my way to the john in the morning. Be prepared to have some serious fun! |
