Question for those of you that were VIP the last years..... How was the area? Was is crowded? Do we have our own showers & bathrooms? Give me some details cause I can't hold my anticipation any longer!..lol  |

Ok.. bike is packed, oil changed, its 3:30pm. I have ants in my pants, I wanna leave so bad.. right here, right now.
Its too hot to leave. I have to go to sleep, then when I wake up at 3 or 4 am to let that crazy schnauzer dog outside, I can pull that beautiful bitch of a bike out, fire her up, and begin that cruz to Sturgis.
Watching the weather reports. Its tomorrow or Tuesday, at the earliest. Its going to rain and storm, so I need to go before it does. My silly candy ass does not like riding for miles and miles in the rain. I can do it, and have the gear to do so, I just dont like to do it.
I have a brandy-new front tire on her. She's slippery. I dont think I like this new Avon.
Its that sound of the motor I crave.. and the feel of slab being pulled underneath me. Her pipes are so loud, that after a few hours on the road, it seems she is roaring quietly.
By 9am in Vegas, its so hot, it feels as if a dragon is breathing in your throat. 4am is ok.. still 100 degrees out, but no brilliant round orb blazing on your head.
It would be nice to fly down the freeway with other bikes. It just never seems to happen. I either leave too early, want to go a different route, or something. So, its just me and that cranky old Harley of mine.
Stopping along the way, getting a bit to eat, I am always asked "How many in your party?"
One.
"Wow.. where are you going?"

"Its not safe for a woman to ride alone."
People dont understand America. Those of us who ride solo, we know something that those who trailer their bikes, or ride in huge groups. In America if you are along the freeway and your bike isnt running, or even if you are along the freeway becuase you just cant stand to go another mile without taking a photo.. people stop to help.
I may ride solo, but I am never alone.
The fabric of the community, even those that do not ride or understand Harleys.. are with me.
America and all her beautiful people watch out for the little old lady on the old Harley that changes all different colors as you drive by. Unfortunatly, some slam on the brakes as they are looking at the bike.. trying to figure out if they are seeing things. No.. your eyes are working, she changes colors.
This whole note is to tell those of you who are leaving in the next few days, ride safe. Be safe. Keep the dark parts on the road, and the chrome twinkling in the cager's eyes.

WOW, so here's where you all have been. New thread under everything else. Hello Bill, Steve & Deb, Pek & Lil' Red. Sure am going to miss you all this year. Tell Rob from Oregon I said hi, he emailed me just a few weeks ago.
Florida Steve and my new found lil' sis (his wife) Deb were the greatest on my visit to them in Florida. I actually hung out on the east coast, Daytona area till about October, bought a mini van at a DEA auction and trailered the wide glide back home to California. July 29 thru October 12 was a nice long vacation.
Been working very much all of this year and no time off for a couple more months at least. Been a banner year for work so I'm makin' the bread while it's rising. I got my first Hollywood role in a movie called Year of the Dog (Paramount Pics). It's just a few seconds driving a chicken ranch truck. Ah, hell, a chicken shit truck role, ha ha ha.
My thoughts will constantly be on you guys these two weeks as they've already been the past couple weeks.
Stay safe, and yeah, like Bill says, keep the rubber side down mates.

Rocco my Brother, I knew you would get back with us !!! You missed it man ! I thought my first yr. at the Chip couldn't be topped, Woody Carol and crew Did it again even bigger ! We missed having you in the pit up front ! Pappa Rocco keep in touch this yr. Hope you make in "07" I tried to troll somebody back to Fl this yr. so I could take another few weeks off....no takers. Hello all, Rocco back here with ya'll. I missed a good one I see. I'm glad everyone had a great time and better, got home safely. I miss you all and look forward to seeing you all again in '07. My Lil' Bro Steve! I missed you, Deb and the kids this year and actually ever since I left Florida. I still LOVE Florida and will be re-visiting on "my own terms & time line":P Hi 2 Angie & Jackie:D. I totally missed out on surprising my lovely Lil' Sis Debbie on her birthday. Just before, on 26 Aug, I had my Mom rushed to the hospital and never really recovered. God I miss her.
I love your family so very much, you're one of the greates famlies I've ever had the pleasure to know.

| Pappa Rocco, Sorry for your loss my friend. I lost mine in "03" You know you are always welcome at our place ! Got your room off the pool deck ready and waiting. Glad to hear good things about ur son. Hope you can make it in "07" to the Chip ! We had a few newbies in Fenske Park this yr. One fella burned me with his cig. moments after meeting him !(one of those motorhome people) Ha Ha, But he made up for it by letting me wear his wife's shorts !!! |

Hello all,
It must be me wishing the winter was over, but I find my thoughts turning more and more to the Chip, the great VIP crew that made my newbie experience so amazing and of course next year. I can hardly wait. I’m in London – bloody cold and damp all the time. Going back to France in a week’s time – bit better.
