I-25 from NM/CO border to Denver I just came up from Alamogordo New Mexico this weekend and the roads in NM suck other then I-25. The side road in the southern half seem to flood over pretty easy. Denver has it's never ending construction on I-25 extending from the southern end of Denver all the way to the north end of Denver. I-225 ewhich is east of Denver has a little construction on the south end. I-70 is open and good from East to West Denver. I-270 at I-70 has construction both directions for about the first 4 miles with lane changes. Thes construction items will still be going on long after the rally has packed up and left. |

Colorado update I-25 in Colorado Springs the concrete is grooved slightly by design. Alternate way from Colorado Springs to Denver Metro area: Exit I-25 in Colorado Springs at the "Interquest Parkway" exit and head east. Interquest Parkway turns north and turns into highway 83. This is a nice ride with great scenery and runs paralell to I-25. Adds about 30 minutes to the ride but is very nice. The is a state park that is enjoyable. As you are approaching Denver (15 miles south) there is a bar on the west side of the road called the "Stagecoach". Great watering hole. To get back on your way I suggest getting on I-225 from US-83 (Parker Road) and head north. You will avoid the Denver T-Rex construction. Go to I-70 and head west for a couple miles. Exit I-70 onto I-270. Head north on that and you will see the turn off for I-25. That will help you bypass the city and construction and get you on your main journey. |

| Lots and lots of grooved pavement up near i25 & i36 (on i25) all the way up through/past Thorton. It's sucks and it's deep. Keep in the left lane, most of it's paved or very little gooved sections |

I-25 near Colorado Springs Colorado There is grooved pavement Northbound I-25 at mile marker 167 and again at 171. There is also a huge amount of construction going on down in Springs on the I-25 corridor. Here's a web site to access for info (closures, projects,etc...), speeds are down to 45 and they are enforcing it fairly hard. http://www.cosmixproject.com/ |

FYI!!!
Below is regarding Denver new noise ordinence that is currently being enforced.
Also a lot of spotty road construction south of Denver into New Mexico on I-25. I traveled down to Alamogordo NM a few weeks ago and there was a lot of spots slowing down to 65, 55, 45 and a few 35 on the highway. Colorado Springs has a fair amount of road construction on I-25 both directions.

Below is from www.thedenverchannel.com (Denver channel7 News)
Motorcycle enthusiasts are upset about a newly passed city ordinance that makes it easier for police to fine bikers for ear-splitting pipes.
The Denver City Council passed the ordinance Monday night that will go into effect July 1.
Council Bill 242 is sponsored by City Councilman Rick Garcia who said the ordinance came about after the city received many complaints from neighbors who said they were tired of listening to the blaring sounds of motorcycles.
Bikers argued that not only will the law be impossible to enforce, but it punishes every Denver rider for the bad actions of a few.
Current noise laws are enforced by a few officers with sound meters.
Under the new law, police can look for the Environment Protection Agency stamp on a bike's muffler. If it's not there, the rider can get a $500 fine, targeting people who buy after-market mufflers to boost the power and noise.
"Every time I ride a bike that doesn't have an EPA sticker on it, whether it conforms to the noise level or not, I am breaking the law," said said motorcycle owner "Lumpy" Ordakowski.
Some motorcyclists said the law is just an excuse to pull over bikers.
"If they wanted to clean the neighborhoods up, they already have the laws that they can stop these motorcyclists and give them tickets, but they don't," said Mike Keeney of Hogley Custom Cycles.
A group of motorcyclists conducted their own experiment and found that even bikes with EPA-approved mufflers don't meet the requirements under the new law.
Garcia said police don't have the resources to be pulling over every random motorcyclist. He said police will be targeting problem areas where neighbors are making complaints.
