Libertad Live at Buffalo Chip
Being among the first to hear songs off Velvet Revolver’s newest album Libertad is one more reason to make plans to attend the 2007 Sturgis Rally! With a scheduled release date of July 3rd and the 2007 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally taking place the first part of August, you really will be among the first to hear their newest songs performed live.
For one night only on August 8th catch Velvet Revolver’s performance at the Wolfman Jack Stage in the Amphitheater, one of the best party spots at the Buffalo Chip Campground.
On their new album
Lead vocalist Scott Weiland says of Velvet Revolver’s newest album, “The feel, the energy of Libertad is about the eternal struggle for freedom — personal and social freedoms.” Appropriately titled, libertad is the Spanish word for freedom.
Weiland, formerly of Stone Temple Pilots, will be joined on-stage by the other band members including Slash and Dave Kushner playing guitars, Matt Sorum on drums and Duff McKagen on bass. If these names sound familiar it’s because the trio Slash, McKagen and Sorum were the driving force behind Guns N’ Roses and Kushner played in Wasted Youth and also the band Loaded.
Libertad boasts an amazing collection of songs and the first song to go single is “She Builds Quick Machines.” What’s making this one song so popular that it’s already a huge hit with fans? Everything about it, that’s what. It’s got an unbelievable guitar riff and an amazing solo performed by Slash and it’s just a great rock song.
And the same goes for the other songs on Libertad. Some of the others destined to be hits are “Last Fight” which is of a style unlike anything the band’s come out with so far and the fun little pop ditty called “She Mine.”
While their first album Contraband was widely successful, it’s clear that Velvet Revolver has really come together and grown considerably since the first album’s debut back in June, 2004.
But that doesn’t mean they’ll abandon the songs that helped take Velvet Revolver to the top of the charts! Not by a long-shot. Onstage they’ll be performing many of their fans’ all-time favorites including the Grammy-award-winning “Slither,” and “Fall to Pieces,” “Set Me Free,” “Dirty Little Thing” and “Come On Come In.”
Catch the band while you can!
Heading east from the west coast, Velvet Revolver is making stops at eleven major US cities during May including LA, San Francisco, Chicago and New York. April was spent on an amazing 6-city tour of South America and the month of June takes Velvet Revolver to Europe where they have 17 dates already planned!
What does that aggressive tour schedule mean to you? It means by the time Velvet Revolver arrives to perform at the 2007 Sturgis Rally they’ll be ready to rock the house! Will you be ready to roll?
Hurry and reserve your space at the Buffalo Chip Campground while you still can!
