Buffalo Chip Burnout Drag Competition
It’s back, it’s bigger and once again it’s being produced by the Legendary Buffalo Chip!
If you missed the Buffalo Chip Burnout Drag Competition last year, you already know you missed out on one incredible show. You definitely don’t want to make the same mistake twice so no matter where you are or what you’re doing during the 2009 Sturgis Rally, make sure you get to the Buffalo Chip Campground on Friday, August 7th.
That’s when the Chip is hosting its 2nd Annual Buffalo Chip Burnout Drags Competition and the party starts early at 6:00 p.m. It’ll be a wild time for sure, but it’s also where you’ll get your chance to check out this year’s competition and choose the builder you think will win. Attempting to wrestle the title away from last year’s winner will be:
Paul Wideman of Bare Knuckle Choppers
Kevin “Teach” Bass of Bass Metal Craft
Kyle Shorey of Shadetree Fabrications
Pat Patterson of Led Sled Customs
Laura Klock of Klock Werks Kustom
Taber Nash of Nash Motorcycle Co.
Paul Yaffe of Paul Yaffe Originals
Jody Perewitz of Perewitz Cycles and Garage Girls
Dave Perewitz of Perewitz Cycles
Athena Ransom of Vagabond Choppers
Bean’re the Overall Gypsy Biker
And of course, the reigning champion, Bill Dodge from Bling’s Cycles.
Even if you don’t have a favorite builder and just want to watch the action, go ahead and vote anyway, because this year everyone who places a vote for the winning builder will also have a chance to win a premium Buffalo Chip product. Your chances of claiming the title of “winner” are as good as anyone’s but if you don’t vote, you don’t get that chance. So get out there and vote!
Who knows, Lady Luck might be on your side. But if you’d rather make an educated guess, here are some things to consider when calculating the winning formula:
bike weight
tire size
tire tread pattern
tire age
horsepower
transmission/pulley/sprocket gearing
transmission shift pattern and
rider talent
Drag Competition starts at 10:00 p.m. at the Kinison Playground and the Championship Burnout takes place at 10:30. Best views are from the Buffalo Chip’s Skywalk, so claim your spot early!
