Between the Gears – Down to the Dirty Details: South Dakota Mud Racers
With enough water these mud trucks can make the biggest details dirty. Over 40 trucks and racers are headed to the Buffalo Chip Mud Nationals held on the Buffalo Chip Sports Complex during Sturgis Bike Week. These adrenaline junkies get their kicks in the form of horsepower, fast times and mud tracks. SDMRI has been the official mud racers association in South Dakota and hosted races for over 5 years. Racers are subject to truck classification and rigorous mechanical checks prior to taking to the mud which makes the race exciting for both the driver and the spectator!
Get out to cheer on the best of the best both Tuesday Aug 4 and Wednesday Aug 5 starting at 12pm. Tickets for the Buffalo Chip Mud Nationals, produced by SDMRI will be available at www.BuffaloChip.com on March 16.
Front Row Center - True Red, White and Blue
Headlines on national media and the blogging world highlight why we like the Big Dog Daddy, Toby Keith so much. “I'll never apologize for being patriotic” is what Keith is quoted as saying in reference to supporting the troops at home and abroad. The superstar was recently recognized by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) for his exceptional support of military people as he was chosen the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Keith’s USO tours have been entertaining troops and their families since 2002. Toby and 6 other individuals will be presented with the prestigious awards on April 21, 2009 on Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
Toby Keith’s Biggest Baddest Tour will accentuate the annual Buffalo Chip Military Tribute which features each of the armed forces, retired military personnel as well as active duty troops. Toby’s previous concerts on the Wolfman Jack Stage have left fans and staff in awe of his talent, dedication to putting on a 5 star show (rain or shine) and humble character. His most recent number one “God Love Her” tells a story of rebel attitude and the open highway which gave the Oklahoma musician his 25th number one hit. Reserve your Toby Keith Fan Upgrade VIP passes here.

THE HEADLITE – American Thunder Visits The Chip
American Thunder, SPEED Channel’s highest-rated and longest running motorcycle magazine show, was out to get a taste of Sturgis in the off season. The frigid 20 degrees didn’t keep producer, Jay Barbieri and his crew from riding out to see what Woody and his crew were up to. The film crew spent 4 hours behind the camera as Woody showed off the new Top Shelf Lounge, the construction site of the Lichter Exhibition Hall and a dozen other improvements that will make for the best experiences during Sturgis bike week.
After getting the insider’s perspective of the campground the crew took to the Shooting Complex and sent nearly 200 rounds down range; the thrill seeker in all of us will enjoy their footage of the high powered pistols and AR15’s. We’ll be sure to let you know the air date so you can check it out!
Only 138 days left until we open the 28th year of the Best Party Anywhere!
