Baker Burnout Drags keep builders at their best
The parade of power was nothing short of a crowd pleaser as the Baker Burnout Drags featured 8 builders racing for the last gear in the head to head match-ups. The flags dropped and the high octane drama began with Bill Dodge of Bling’s Cycle taking rights to the 2008 Championship.
This year, the Drags will take it up a notch with 12 of the world’s top custom bike builders getting in on the flag drop to be crowned the 2009 Champ. The rules are simple – Once the Baker flag drops the race for 5th gear is on. Two judges will have the shift count displayed in real time to declare the winner of each heat. We expect to hear the back tire riots all around the campground but you’ll want to be there for six heats, the semi’s and the BAKER Finals to see the crowning of the last builder standing.
Friday August 7th is your chance to take home the top-end premium drivetrain components in the American Big Twin Industry. Find the BAKER Burnout Bikes in the main amphitheatre and vote on the bike that you think will bring the riotous FIRE and rubber-burning FURY. Pick the winner and you’re in the running for a BAKER clutch. Voting starts by 7:00pm and all ballots must be cast before the unbridled mayhem begins at 10:00pm.
The builders are bringing their winning combination of bike weight, tire size, tread patters, horsepower and gearing. This is going to be a highlight of the 2009 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and its happening at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. Clue: Sorry, but you would have to be a lot older than 15 to not know about this Grammy nominated L.A. hard rock band. A little Sparrow told us that their name was a puzzle only Chuck Berry could solve. They're the perfect band for getting lit up to the point where you're just too drunk and crying rescue me.
