Bring the cheap sun glasses or come as a sharp dressed man for the Buffalo Chip’s 2010 kick-off party. The ‘Little ol’ Band from Texas’ has a few things in mind for celebrating 40 years of entertaining the world and the first on the to-do list is to be where their people are.

Your people are our people.” That’s what ZZ Top’s management told the Buffalo Chip when they booked the band for Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 during the 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The musical career of the three Hall of Famers built the foundations of southern rock with 20 Albums, more than 10 number 1 hits and the anticipated release of a 2-DVD concert collection called “Double Down”.

ZZ Top has come a long way from the haybales and long horn cattle on the stage but have never lost the party-band blues-rock that started it all. From their first hit, “Francene” through to today, they have generated some of rock’s greatest southern rock boogie anthems, including “Tush,” “La Grange,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Pearl Necklace,” “Velcro Fly,” “Legs,” and many more.

“We want people to come to the Chip for their Sturgis Rally vacation party and have the time of their life. ZZ Top defines party. There can be no serious discussion of party music that does not include the bulk of ZZ Top’s extensive library of hits,” said Campground Owner, Woodruff. “A ZZ Top concert is the
perfect way to kick off the 70th Annual Sturgis Rally. It’s just going to be a blast.”

Riders in the Buffalo Chip’s Third Annual Legends Ride will also be treated to ZZ Top’s Buffalo Chip Sturgis Rally performance. The Legends Ride puts celebrities, bike builders, cigar aficionados and riders together for a day of parties, receptions and concerts. In 2009, the Legends Ride raised $61,600 for the Black Hills Children’s Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. MORE ABOUT ZZ TOP
ZZZZ Top was formed in Houston in 1970 by Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard who quickly became known as “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,.” They have maintained an extraordinary standard of music quality and stage performance that earned them their place in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Along with his custom hot rod collection, Gibbons has two custom Harley Davidson motorcycles named HogZZilla. Gillette reportedly offered Gibbons and Hill $1 million to shave their trademark beards – both declined.
