STURGIS RIDER NEWS
Howdy. Rally’s comin’ on like gangbusters and we’re really looking forward to seeing you all. Briefly:
Folks representing the PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS and HEALING FIELD were out for a visit to advance construction of the memorial field of flags. I think we’ll all be stunned by the visual impact when cresting the hilltop approaching the Buffalo Chip this year. There you’ll see a HEALING FIELD of 10+ acres of American Flags placed with military precision, each commemorating one individual American trooper whose life was taken from us in either Afghanistan or Iraq - American Sacred Ground.
There’ll be parking available near the Box Office to permit us each to take a moment to show our respect for their sacrifice. There will be a nearby registration office and we’re all encouraged to walk through the Healing Field. More information is available on www.healingfield.org. We’ll pass along more about specific related events in the coming weeks.
The BLACK PARROT’s construction is coming along phenomenally. 3 beaches, a shaded deck over Emerald Pond, 2 boardwalks and 3 docks over two sides of the pond, a very nice concrete patio alongside the BLACK PARROT BAR from which to observe the sand volleyball games while sipping on the best Parrot Bay Rumrunners I’ve ever tasted. Ooohhh, ooohhh, ooohhh, I love this bar!!!!!!!!
My 84 year old uncle is returning to work this year! He just loves you guys, and after seeing the lifestyle, he’d taken a few years off and traveled with a couple of lady friends. Please say “hi” to “Uncle Mal” at the gates and as he cruises around the camp on his 4 wheeler insuring all’s well. He’ll be the good looking fella with the 4-wheeler, coveralls, big smile and lots of stories.
Watch the website for new menus. We’ve just added a great food vendor from northern North Dakota. We call them the “Yah, You betcha” vendors. They’re fun and the food’s great.
Verizon is placing a temporary tower right at the Chip’s boundary, so service should be great this year.
It is “the last minute” again and things are really happening. Please stay tuned and we’ll try to keep you updated. ‘Til then, as always,
Ride Free, Take Risks and we’ll see your smilin’ faces in a month! Yes!
