Sturgis Rider News

YO! Rally’s comin’. They say weather is "sizzling", but the stars are twinkling and it’s 75 degrees at midnight, which is dang nice for a little outdoor party.

Briefly, since I can’t in words do justice to all that’s happening at the Chip anyway, here’s a little update:

Tributes to our American troops, present and past, continue more and more as the Chip’s honor and privilege. The Chip’s particularly proud to associate with THE HEALING FIELD and PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS. We talk about a party, but the Chip’s real mission is tribute to, respect for and preservation of American Freedom.

Right now that mission is best executed as a biker party. Work on THE BLACK PARROT™ continues, with rock walls around the patio deck promised to be completed on Monday. Construction of a little additional decking and the bar top is to be completed on Tuesday. All the docks and decking will be treated and then "christened". The sound of the water falling into the pond from the fountain, the relaxation of the waterfalls - oooooh, I love this bar....

The amphitheater is being watered for grass and dust control. The crew just put down an additional 3000 tons of chipped asphalt and will next week also apply mag water for dust control. This 7th year of drought has been tough on the soil. Please ride on the Chip’s roads, not the grass, to minimize dust. One more headliner

The team of the BUDWEISER CLYDESDALES will pull their beer wagon through the Chip from 7 pm until 9 pm on Monday, August 7th. Be sure to get back to the Chip early for George Thorogood & The Destroyers and Montgomery Gentry so you can get some good photos of this magnificent example of Early American Horsepower.

NASCAR Fans or folks who just plain enjoy power and professionalism will want to be back at the Chip early again before Buckcherry and Alice In Chains of Friday, August 11th. NASCAR’S JEFF CLARK, formerly with Dale Earnhart, Jr.’s crew, enjoys a whole lot of power on his motorcycle, too. He’ll be blessing the Chip with NASCAR BURNOUTS at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. near the steel bar. Then he’ll demonstrate how fast his crew can put a new tire on that motorcycle and burn it out, too. Etc. Perhaps we can set a world record for consecutive burnouts. It sounds like fun and you’ll be able to enjoy the best view from the Chip’s Skywalk. Yes, he’ll do autographs and photos.

CABINS.

Hey, if you want a cabin, the Chip has the best. Instead of a piddley little wooden box with few, if any, comforts, the Chip makes it possible for you to treat your lady to a BRAND NEW RV with beds, air conditioners, showers, kitchen, refrigerator, stereo and more comforts than I have at home. And, like everything else at the Chip, the price is less than others charge and it’ll cost less to have one hooked up and waiting for you than it would to drive one. I mention it because there are only a couple left, so this would be the time to make a decision if you’ve been procrastinating. will be announced this week.

Enough already. Ride Free, Take Risks and we’ll see your smiling faces in a couple of weeks!!
