For the second consecutive year, Anheuser-Busch Recycling Corporation (A-BRC) joined local wholesaler, Eagle Sales of the Black Hills Inc, Ace Steel and Recycling and select Sturgis campgrounds including The Chip to lead a recycling effort for the Sturgis Rally.  As a result, the effort raised more than $2,900 for the Greater Sturgis Lifecare Foundation and has raised more than $5,000 for the foundation since 2006.  So next time you’re at The Chip be on the lookout for the red recycling containers, help out mother earth and support a great foundation in the process!

Saturday, October 6th marked the start of something very special.  That is if you are the kind of person who enjoys riding in the warm California sun, hanging with celebrities and partying with playmates.  The first annual “Leather Meets Lace” at the Playboy Mansion invited motorcycle enthusiasts, industry professionals and celebrities from all over the country to come together and raise money for worthwhile charities like the Ride for Heart and Peace, Love and Happiness Charity Ride.  

 

The inaugural event kicked off at the world-famous Kodak Theater where a celebrity ride was lead by none other than Buffalo Chip favorite and long time entertainer Captain Robbie Kneivel.  The festivities continued at the Playboy Mansion as guests were treated to a red-carpet experience complete with a dinner party and a charity auction where movie scripts, motorcycle memorabilia and vacation packages were among the many items up for bid.

 

The Legendary Buffalo Chip’s own Ms. Bonnie London was in attendance and former Chip entertainer and Leather Meets Lace organizer Billy Gordon credited the Legendary Buffalo Chip’s owner Rod Woodruff with throwing “The Best Party Anywhere.”  Speaking about the Playboy Mansion Party, Gordon said, "it is gratifying to help charities and along the way because fun can break out at any minute." THE CHIP’S COOLEST CAMPSITE COMPETITION HEATS UP! 

 

Thank you to all you Chipsters out there who have sent us pictures for your 2007 campsites.  For those of you who don’t know about our little competition, we have asked all Chipsters to submit pictures of their 2007 campsites to determine who had “The Chip’s Coolest Campsites for 2007.”  All of our submissions have had campsites of varied size and elaborateness, but all campsites have one thing in common and that’s good times and great people.  Here are two examples.  Please email your submissions for The Chip’s Coolest Campsite Competition to lon@buffalochip.com

 

I bet you can’t tell which ones are the rookies can you? Geeze.  The “rookies” (or first-timers to Sturgis) had to keep up with the daily cleaning duties at the campsite and keep the brew fully-chilled and in-hand to the rest of the campers.  Now that’s about as much responsibility as one should take on at The Chip.  Good work Rookies, we’ll see you next year!   

 

Well the “Barrachos” were a small gathering of folks a couple years ago that have seemed to grow to a full on biker party at the Chip, go figure?  Last year this low-key and well-behaved group consisted of over 50 folks from all over the country.  If the Barrachos keep growing they're going to take over The Chip!  By the looks of this group, I don’t think we mind.  Can’t wait to party with you guys!
