The Black Parrot Bar at the Emerald Pond:
Take a quick afternoon dip, or a long sun bath at the beautiful Black Parrot Bar at Emerald Pond. The Black Parrot is a tropical-themed watering hole located smack in the center of the Buffalo Chip Campground. It sits on the banks of Emerald Pond and believe it or not it’s surrounded by some of the prettiest, whitest sand you’ve ever seen. So take a swim, enjoy an island cocktail and don’t worry about tan lines.
Pitchfork Fondue:
Dig into a hearty, chuck wagon feast with Pitchfork Fondue. The Legendary Buffalo Chip invites you to experience a western culinary tradition you’ll be telling your friends and family about for years to come! It’s called “Pitchfork Fondue” where cowboy chefs prepare a mouth-watering rib eye steak by cooking it in a bat of oil combined with a special blend of herbs and seasonings. You’ll never eat a more tender or delicious piece of steak anywhere!
The Legendary Buffalo Chip has some of the best scenery the Sturgis Rally has to offer. The daily Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant and bikinied beauties provide eye-candy to keep us all smilin' and excited for the next year. So get ready and don’t forget to pack your camera!
The Chip Hits the Road, Literally:
Since the conclusion of The Chip’s unbelievable 2007 party, our own road warrior Kevin Karns has been touring and promoting at motorcycling events all over the south east. From the Thunder Beach Fall Rally in beautiful Panama City Beach, to the Myrtle Beach Fall Rally and Biketoberfest in Daytona, Kevin has traveled thousands of miles talking with hundreds of old friends and meeting plenty new ones along the way. It’s always great for us to “beat the streets” so we can talk to fellow Chipsters and get ideas on how we can improve their stay as well as take requests on who they want to party with from year to year. The next stop on The Chip’s Road Tour schedule is the 30th annual Colorado Motorcycle Show and Swap, February 2nd and 3rd in Denver. For more information on the event log on to www.comotorcycleshowandswap.com and make sure you stop by The Chip’s booth and say hello to Kevin at the Chip staff!
The Chip’s “Coolest Campsite Competition” Showcases the True Fun and Camaraderie of the Sturgis Camping Experience:
Well maybe it's not all fun and games. Take a look at the before and after shots of fellow Chipster Bill Eastman’s campsite after one of our good ol’ South Dakota thunderstorms. Way to hang in there, Bill, and bring plenty of tent stakes next year!
Before: Every seasoned Chipster like Bill knows that there are certain “components” to a successful campsite at the Chip. A couple of picnic tables, some plastic for some shade and a little PVC pipe and you’ve got yourself a pretty “cool” campsite! Notice the fine décor of Bill’s campsite accented with Christmas lights, Marti Gras beads and ladies undergarments. Beautiful, Bill, just beautiful.
After: And of course every seasoned Chipster knows about our South Dakota thunderstorms. Bill and his fellow Chipsters want you all to know that there was no beer or alcohol spilled or damaged at the campsite during the storm. Good to know, guys, we got worried there for a second.
You had a cool campsite last year and you would like to see it highlighted on our e-newsletter please send digital pictures of your campsite to lon@buffalochip.com. Stay tuned for future contest announcements for The Chip’s Coolest Campsite Competition for 2008.
