ZZ Top is coming to the Buffalo Chip
What better Christmas gift could we give you than confirmation than That Little Ol’ Band from Texas, ZZ Top will be performing on our stage Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008? They’ll be joined by country music rising stars, Sugarland.
Those of you who’ve seen ZZ Top play for bikers at the Chip know what you’re in for. And, those first timers coming this year can probably guess.
Formed in 1970, ZZ Top is the quintessential boogie rock trio with Billy Gibbons on guitar, Dusty Hill on bass and Frank Beard on drums. They’re the only rock band to have the same lineup for 38 years.
Their hits include “Velcro Fly,” “Rough Boy,” “Pearl Necklace,” “Viva Las Vegas,” “I Thank You,” “Tube Snake Boogie,” “Got Me Under Pressure,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’” “Legs,” “La Grange,” “Cheap Sunglasses,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Tush,” “I’m Bad, I’m Nationwide,” “Just Got Paid,” “Sleeping Bag,” and “Jesus Just Left Chicago.”
They inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
“They’re just the perfect band for a Sturgis Rally Buffalo Chip crowd,” said Woodruff.
