The first annual Legends Ride will take place Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008 during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.  The ride, which is co- produced by The Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground and the City of Deadwood will benefit Kids & Chrome Foundation, which in turn benefits the Children’s Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be involved with the Legendary Buffalo Chip producing this great event,” says Deadwood Chamber Director, George Milos.  “The Legends Ride will be a great Sturgis Rally experience for any participant and give all of us a chance to support the Kids & Chrome foundation.”

“The Chip has always had a great legacy of supporting worthwhile charities,” said Buffalo Chip owner Rod Woodruff.  “With stars from film, television, music, motorcycling and premium cigars, this year’s Legends Ride will be a thrill for Sturgis Rally goers.”

A minimum contribution of $150 for participation may be made online at www.legendsride.com or for $200 the day of the event.  One hundred percent of all contributions go to the Kids & Chrome Foundation and the entire contribution is tax deductable.

Participants will receive a souvenir gift pack which includes an event T-shirt and other sponsor items, plus food, drinks and admission to a VIP party followed by concerts featuring country stars Sugarland and rock and roll hall of famers ZZ Top at the Legendary Buffalo Chip.

Riders will begin the 50-mile ride after enjoying a variety of entertainment and activities at the Silverado-Franklin Gaming Complex and the Deadwood Tobacco Company and proceed through Vanocker Canyon and Sturgis to the Legendary Buffalo Chip.

Kids & Chrome, now in its fourth year, continues its tradition of raising funds for the Children’s Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame.

Children’s Home Society provides a home, school and therapy for children, primarily ages 4 – 13, with emotional and behavioral problems. The majority of the children have a history of abuse and neglect. Foster care, adoption services and emergency shelter services and consulting for women and children who are victims of domestic abuse are also provided.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum is a world-class museum offering comprehensive and educational exhibits, plus rare and unusual motorcycles significant to both the history and sport of motorcycling.

Among the celebrities scheduled to participate are Easyriders magazine editor Dave Nichols, industry icons
