PATRIOT FLAG TO FLY FROM FIRE TRUCK AT BUFFALO CHIP

The Patriot Flag will fly at the Legendary Buffalo Chip’s annual Freedom Celebration thanks to the South Dakota Patriot Guard Riders. The flag will be raised at the Buffalo Chip on Monday, Aug. 8, during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The huge 30’ by 58’ flag weighs 60 pounds and will fly from a ladder truck provided by Rosenbauer America, of Lyons, SD.

South Dakota will be the last of the 50 states to fly the flag before it flies at Ground Zero in Manhattan, NY, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on America. Police and firefighters from New York City and the Port Authority lost 403 of their comrades in the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers. There were 2,981 people who perished as a result of the attacks.
