First Band Announcement For The 2010 Sturgis Rally

The reason ZZ Top is coming to the Buffalo Chip to celebrate their 40 years in rock is because, “Your people are our people.” That’s what the band’s management told the Buffalo Chip when they called to ask if they could play Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 during the 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The Buffalo Chip’s audience is well-known in the music industry as the most appreciative and enthusiastic audience in the world. More and more entertainers each year are coming to Buffalo Chip management wanting to play either for the first time or in an effort to repeat an unforgettable experience they’ve had at a previous Sturgis Rally.

Legends Ride Riders will also be treated to ZZ Top’s Buffalo Chip Sturgis Rally performance. The 2009 Legends Ride raised $61,600 for the Black Hills Childrens Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.

“We are truly honored that rock icons like ZZ Top chose the Buffalo Chip as one of the venues they’ll play in 2010 to celebrate their 40 years of entertaining. The Buffalo Chip’s campers are the bulls-eye target audience for a party band like ZZ Top,” said campground owner Rod Woodruff. “And, the concert will provide a specil treat for the folks who participate in the 2010 Legends Ride.”
