Mastodon has been turning heads and making an impression for over a decade with kudos from a diverse group of bands like Metallica, the Flaming Lips, the Melvins and Cee Lo Green. Their latest album, The Hunter, received American mainstream success with songs like “Curl of Burl” that garnered them a debut on the top of the Billboard Charts as well as a second Grammy nomination for best hard rock performance. The passion Mastodon put into the album paid off and the band continues to surprise and excite audiences. They continue to pave the way for hard rock, forever pushing the limits and fascinating fans much like they intend to do at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s 2013 summer music festival.
“Known worldwide, Mastodon is considered to be one of the greatest metal bands of their generation,” says Rod Woodruff of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “Their powerful shows are the exact reason fans are excited to see them at the Chip for the first time this summer.”
The 32nd annual Sturgis Buffalo Chip® motorcycle and music festival takes place August 2-11, 2013 during the annual Sturgis motorcycle rally. More bands will be announced soon. All summer music festival and motorcycle rally information is available at www.buffalochip.com or (605) 347-9000.
