The Legendary Buffalo Chip Gives South Dakota Students Unique Opportunity

Work is progressing on a unique partnership to benefit The Legendary Buffalo Chip’s Legends Ride. The Chip has teamed with Michael Prugh (Prugh Designs), Black Hills Harley Davidson (BHHD) and Western Dakota Technical Institute (WDT) to design and build the Legend’s Ride bike for 2010.

The project, titled The Buffalo Chip’s 2K10 Challenge, will provide WDT welding and manufacturing students an opportunity to work with a world class designer (Prugh) with first class parts provided by BHHD and have their work showcased in one of the fastest growing charity motorcycle events in the world, The Legends Ride™.

The Legends Ride™ will in 2010 benefit the Children’s Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum, each of which received more than $30,000 from the 2009 ride. The 2K10 Challenge Prugh-designed and WDT-built bike will make use of more than $15,000 worth of donated parts from BHHD. It will be auctioned after the Legends Ride™ on Monday, Aug. 9 at the Buffalo Chip.

Regular video episodes will track the progress of the project and be presented here on BuffaloChip.com. Keep watching, the first episode will be coming your way soon.
