Our faithful and infamous emcee, Hank has issued a contest in honor of his 27th year at the Buffalo Chip. He takes the stage every night of the Party to give you the news, spread a little cheer and of course make you feel like you’re at home at the Chip. Hank, over the years he’s been the voice of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip has kept a few things the same, like his 10 gallon cowboy hat, booming voice and of course the certain way of greeting the fans, riders and campers each night. It’s become something of a mantra, sticking in your head long after you’ve left the Best Party Anywhere. It’s the 5 words that let you know you’ve arrived and are now suddenly a part of a big family. While reading this contest, if you haven’t already done your own version of “Welcome to the Buffalo Chip” at your computer, then what are you waiting for?!
The contest is simple – muster up your best impression of Hank’s opening line and upload a video to prove it. The video, based on votes, that makes it through the bracket and ends up as our Champion of the Hank Impression will also be joining Hank on stage as a co-emcee for one night of concerts.
Turn on the webcam, grab a friend and a video camera, heck turn on that cell-phone camera and get yourself entered! The call for entries is officially open and you’ve only got until May 14th to get them uploaded. The best impersonator, as chosen by online voters from May 21- June 25, will experience Hank’s world at the Chip first hand so we’ll need the winner to be on grounds for one of the best concerts in Sturgis!
