Veterans Tribute

An emotional tribute to fallen soldiers in the form of thousands of flags, arranged with Veterans Cemetery precision, the Traveling Vietnam Wall, multiple veterans memorials and tributes and a new sculpture of a field cross by metal artist Vaughn Schafer will all be part of the annual Buffalo Chip Freedom Celebration™.

“We have a party at the Buffalo Chip each year,” said campground owner Rod Woodruff. “Many of the people who come here, do so to celebrate the American freedoms our military has fought and continues to fight to preserve. Many of those who come each year are among those who are in the fight or have fought for those very freedoms. We honor them, and we celebrate with them, the freedoms they helped to preserve.”

In addition, The United States Marine Corps will be conducting training exercises throughout the event and will participate in some of the ceremonies planned for the week. The United States Air Force, The Patriot Guard Riders, The DAV, The VFW, and additional veterans groups are expected to participate. Some Buffalo Chip celebrities plan to visit the patients and staff at Fort Meade Veterans Administration Hospital. And a new steel field cross sculptur, by artist Vaughn Schafer, will be dedicated.
