Internship Opportunities
(July-August)

Work alongside professional mentors and get a behind-the-scenes look at the planning, promotion and execution of the Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling®! (All internships meet 150-hour minimum to receive three course credits.)

Editorial Assistant
Potentially have your work printed in publications nationwide and read by countless Sturgis Rider® News Blog subscribers. RallyPositions
(July 28 - Aug. 14, 2017)

Coming to the Sturgis Rally and the Chip is an annual ritual for many guests. For many others, it will be their first time attending. As a Buffalo Chip event staff member, you can help create a memorable experience for all who call the Chip home during the Sturgis Rally.

Buffalo Chip staffers have so much fun working the festival that many come back to work the festival year and after year. Check out the available positions, then apply online! We’d love to have you join the Chip family! (Please note: Two IDs are required, and all seasonal staff must be available to work July 28-Aug. 14 at minimum.)

Jumbotron Tech
Maintain LED screens and video operations as part of the stage video crew. Candidates should have experience in electronics and video systems, although experience with Buffalo Chip-specific equipment is not required. Duties include powering on/off screens each day, operating chain motors to raise and lower screens, monitoring weather and responding to protect assets, and troubleshooting electronics involved in the system.

Event Videographer
Skilled videographer and editor needed to work as part of the Buffalo Chip’s media crew for the nine-day festival. Candidates should have their own HD video equipment (integrated lens or DSLR), be experienced shooting handheld in a fast-paced production environment, and have the ability to direct talent and shoot to a script. Showcase Stage Production Assistant
Assist in the promotion and execution of entertainment and events taking place on the Buffalo Chip’s Showcase Stages. Duties include but are not limited to communicating load-in/sound-check times with artists and sound engineers, transporting bands and their gear, providing entertainers with designated passes and fulfilling hospitality requests.

Corporate Sponsor Set Team Members
Help set up and execute some of the Buffalo Chip’s high-profile signature events.

Gate Security
Greet thousands of guests as they enter the grounds for the vacation of a lifetime.

Flaggers
Direct traffic so guests can quickly and safely get where they need to go.

RV Checkers
Help the Chip follow county ordinances by making sure no alcohol or weapons come through the gates.

Dispatch
Help keep the lines of communication open between staff spread across the 580-acre property.

Ground Security
Serve and protect Buffalo Chip models, dignitaries and celebrity guests.  

ID Checker
Help the Chip uphold the law by keeping minors from purchasing alcohol on site.

Zip Line Crew
Send Buffalo Chip guests on the ride of their life from atop the seven-foot story high Zip the Chip zip line platform inside the amphitheater.

Ticket Scanners
Welcome thousands happy, smiling guests through the gates.

Residential Trash Detail
Catch all the crazy campground shenanigans while helping us keep the Chip clean for our guests.

Stage Security
Protect bands like Ozzy Osbourne and blink-182 from fanatics trying to storm the stage.

Box Office Staff
Check in guests who have advance reservations and sell passes to those yet to reserve in air-conditioned comfort. Must be detail oriented and have computer skills.
