Why do you ride?

Every Sturgis Rally for the last 14 years, photographer Michael Lichter has collaborated with motorcycle builders and moto-artists to produce inspired, top-notch shows combining both visual art and motorcycles. Each show has focused on a particular way of celebrating the beauty and diversity of motorcycling and has been titled differently each time to reflect that element. Originally held at the Journey Museum in Rapid City, the shows found a home in 2009 at the Buffalo Chip’s Russ Brown Event Center under the banner Motorcycles As Art.
