Illumination Fire Troupe to perform at CrossRoads at the Buffalo Chip

The Illumination dance troupe will be dazzling the audiences at the Legendary Buffalo Chip’s new FREE access CrossRoads at the Buffalo Chip with their sensual dances and aerial circus stunts, mixing their dance with fire to bring audiences a unique one-of-a-kind experience.

Illumination is one of the premier fire performance troupes in the Midwest that combines various dance style, acrobatic skills and visionary choreography with fire to spark the imagination and ignite the spirit. Various fire props and costumes are used to create a full experience.

Illumination is made up of Alyssa “Luscious,” Cori “Corazon,” Fiona Flameteaser, JoSarah, Justice Draconis, Lacey Bird, Rachael.

Alyssa “Luscious,” from Minnesota, was born to perform and is a graduate of McNally Smith College of Music. Alyssa is an accomplished vocalist, dancer and fire spinner and has a passion for sensual movement and fiery heat. Alyssa has been dancing with Illumination Fire Troupe since 2003 and has worked with fire fans, poi, wands, palms, staff and even fire eating.

Cori “Corazon” became inspired by the art of fire dancing in 1998 during a life changing adventure on the west coast. Cori is a founding member of the Illumination Fire Troupe and Spin Jam in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cori has been the director of Illumination Fire Troupe for 13 years and uses poi, fans, fingers, eating, hooping, fleshing, staff and fire snow boarding.

JoSarah has been dancing and performing fore more than 12 years and studies mostly modern dance with explorations in ballet, African dance, jazz, modern, tap and lyrical. She has been manipulating fire for seven years and her talents include fire breathing, fire eating, fire fans, rope dart, hula hoop and coming soon a fire aerial hoop. JoSarah has been studying aerial for three years and specializes in the aerial hoop.

Justice Dranconis is an International Performance Artist that has been performing professionally for nearly a decade. Justice uses his dynamic wardrobe, intense style, long dreads, and his plethora of talents to dazzle audiences with his skills in fire dancing, aerial artistry, roving character, contact juggling, stilt walking, body balancing, acting and studio and runway modeling.

Lacey Bird started dance classes at the age of three and has performed in front of crowds young and old in a number of different settings. She has performed at schools, theaters, concerts, festivals, nightclubs, weddings, birthday parties, graduation parties and corporate events. Some of her current projects include fire dancing, performances as a marionette, taking a variety of dance classes, practicing and learning new ways to perform with fire and working on costumes. Some of her dance styles include ballet, jazz, hip hop, West African, modern, tap and swing.

Fiona Flameteaser enjoys combining her love for dance, fire and burlesque to amaze and entice the audience. She has been fire dancing with the Illumination Fire Troupe for the past seven years and she has also been a part of the Vox Medusa Dance Company, as well as the Black Hearts Burlesque.

Rachael has loved dancing and doing acrobatics for as long as she can remember. She discovered fire dancing at a music festival five years ago and since has performed at dozens of music festivals, private parties, and clubs throughout the Twin Cities and the country.
