CHIP VEHICLE and TRAFFIC POLICY

The Buffalo Chip has grown into one of the nation’s largest festivals and has caused us to address dangerous traffic activities that could cause accidents and harm. We want your festival experience to be both safe and memorable. We appreciate and thank you for your full cooperation.

SAFETY is the highest priority. The following Traffic Policy is enforced to enhance the safety of all who attend the Chip.

REFER TO THE MAPS on BuffaloChip.com for clarification. Print the maps prior to leaving home and refer to them when you arrive at the Chip. Become familiar with all traffic policies prior to your arrival.

FREE PARKING IS AVAILABLE at the East end of the campground, East of 132nd Avenue. Anyone in a 4 wheel vehicle arriving that does not intend to camp and does not have a vehicle camping pass will be required to Park at the FREE EAST PARKING LOT. Please refer to the CAMPGROUND MAP located at www.buffalochip.com under the NEWS/INFO button.

THE CAMPING AND MOTORCYCLE ONLY ENTRANCE AT THE WEST GATE is located off of 131st Ave. It is the only entrance through which people intending to camp overnight or longer will be admitted into the campground as long as it is before 7:30 PM due to safety concerns and high traffic activity. Anyone intending to Camp must pick up admission passes and other registration materials at the West Box Office whether having registered in advance or arriving without reservations. Each RV with a reservation will be escorted from the West Box Office to the space reserved for them between the hours of 7:30am & 7:30pm.

A VEHICLE CAMPING PASS will be REQUIRED for all FOUR WHEELED VEHICLES intending to camp at the Chip. The issued Vehicle Pass can be picked up at the West Box Office at the West Gate and must be adhered to the camping vehicles window in order to enter. This sticker will authorize admission at the West Gate for campers’ four-wheeled vehicles as long as the entry or re-entry is before 7:30 PM due to safety concerns and high traffic activity. Vehicles must remain non-mobile at the campsite and not be used after 7:30 PM daily.
 
ALL VEHICLES ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH upon entry and while vehicles are on the festival grounds. It is against State Law to bring outside alcohol onto the licensed premises. Weapons must be surrendered and checked in at the WEST Gate for storage during your stay. No animals are allowed.
 
AFTER 7:30 PM ONLY MOTORCYCLES AND TRIKES WILL BE ADMITTED into the campground due to safety concerns and high traffic activity. Arrival after 7:30, will require all 4 wheel vehicles to park overnight in the FREE EAST PARKING LOT located to the East of 132nd Avenue. Guests initially arriving at the West Box Office after 7:30 pm in a car, pickup, truck, bus or other 4-wheel vehicle, will be able to complete registration at the West Box Office, after which the vehicle will be routed to the FREE EAST PARKING LOT located off 132nd Avenue even if the vehicle has a camper’s vehicle pass. Guests may camp with or in their vehicle in the parking lot that evening if preferred. 4-Wheel vehicles with camping stickers can then return to the West Gate after 6:00 am the following morning and enter the campground to set up camp.

NON-CAMPING GUESTS, unless on motorcycles, must park at the FREE EAST PARKING LOT for the concerts and other entertainment, and walk into the amphitheater. Guests can ride their motorcycle or trike through the West Gate. There is no amphitheater parking at the West Gate.
 
TRAVEL WITHIN THE CAMPGROUND BY LICENSED FOUR-WHEELED MOTOR VEHICLES IS FORBIDDEN AFTER 7:30 pm The sun sets at approximately 7:30 pm. Motorized traffic within the campground after 7:30 pm is restricted to motorcycles, trikes, small recreational 4-wheelers, golf carts and vehicles designed to assist those with physical limitations. Authorized service and emergency vehicles are the sole exception. All cars, pickups, trucks, RV’s, buses and specialty vehicles must remain parked at your campsite after 7:30 pm until dawn. Failure to comply could result in your vehicle being removed and not re admitted into the campground under any circumstances.
 
GOLF CARTS, SIDE BY SIDES, AND SMALL RECREATIONAL VEHICLES are allowed in the Campground only, not the amphitheater. Only pedestrians, motorcycles, trikes, delivery vehicles and vehicles designed to assist those with physical limitations will be allowed inside the AMPHITHEATER at all times. For safety, this policy is subject to change at anytime to foot traffic only within the amphitheatre. Failure to comply could result in your vehicle being confiscated until your departure and not re-admitted into the campground under any circumstances.
 
THE EAST GATE ENTRANCE IS RESTRICTED TO PEDESTRIANS. Only foot traffic will be admitted into the campground, including the amphitheater, through the East Gate. Admissions from the East must park motor vehicles in the FREE EAST PARKING LOT located to the East of 132nd Avenue and walk from the parking lot to the East Gate entrance.
 
 
All campers will enter the campground from the west, off 131st Avenue. Those exiting from the amphitheater or the north part of the campground will exit onto 132nd Avenue by crossing the dam at the north end of the Big Lake and Event Center. Those exiting from the southern parts of the campground will exit onto 132nd Avenue alongside the north boundary of the South 40 RV Park. There is also an exit to 131st Avenue just east of the Main Admissions office.
