The Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling® is Racing Central in 2018

Sturgis, SD (July 20, 2018) – Eight days of adrenaline-packed racing events are making this year’s Sturgis Buffalo Chip Moto Stampede race series the premier action center of the rally. From American Flat Track and RSD Super Hooligan to street drags, Dirt Riot Off-Road, Gambler 500 Mini Bike Show Down and AMA Supermoto, audiences will have an up-close viewing experience paired with hot rock concerts they won’t find in any other venue in the world. Sturgis Buffalo Chip rounds out Best Party Anywhere® lineup with more bands, races and bike shows.

Sturgis, SD (July 10, 2018) – The world’s largest music and motorcycle festival has announced the full two-week lineup of world-class concerts, professional racing, legendary bike shows and seriously fun events to take place July 30-Aug. 12. Twenty more acts have joined the likes of Kid Rock, Eric Church, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner, Aaron Lewis, Theory of a Deadman, The Marshall Tucker Band and Phil Vassar. Some of the world’s top party bands have also made the list including Pop Evil, Red Sun Rising, John Kay & Steppenwolf, Yelawolf, Chevelle, Reverend Horton Heat and Queensrÿche. The Bob Hanson Distinguished Service Awards will be presented on the main stage on Thursday, Aug. 9

Sturgis, SD – Honoring America’s military has long been a Buffalo Chip tradition. Thursday of rally week has customarily been the day set aside to celebrate American freedom and recognize the bravery and unbeatable determination of those who have stood ready to give their lives in defense of ours. The Buffalo Chip will honor several courageous veterans with the Bob Hanson Distinguished Service Award. The Bob Hanson Distinguished Patriot Award will also be presented and two wounded veterans will be honored. A special Veterans’ charity auction will be held at the Buffalo Chip’s CrossRoads on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 4 p.m.

The custom masterwork, unveiled on national television, will be auctioned in support of the 2018 Legends Ride charity event on Monday, Aug. 6.

Sturgis, SD – A custom motorcycle built for the Sturgis Buffalo Chip by celebrity builder Paul Teutul Jr. on Discovery’s hit TV show “American Chopper” was revealed during an episode that aired May 28. Teutul first introduced audiences to the Buffalo Chip-inspired custom bike in the series’ March 1season premiere. The second episode again featured the build as he visited the Buffalo Chip and surrounding Black Hills for inspiration and then completed the project. The Buffalo Chip will offer the public the opportunity to own Teutul’s masterwork by auctioning it off in support of its signature Legends Ride charity event on Monday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. on Deadwood’s Historic Main Street. One hundred percent of rider fees from the event benefit the South Dakota Special Olympics Rapid City Flame’s Buffalo Chip Gym and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum.
