Scott Jacobs is an American photorealist painter best known as the first officially licensed artist for Harley-Davidson. Renowned for his highly detailed paintings of motorcycles, classic cars, wine, and Americana, Jacobs has built an international reputation for capturing chrome, reflections and texture with photographic realism. Originally an art gallery owner in New Jersey, he transitioned into painting in the late 1980s after receiving art supplies as a gift from his wife, Sharon. In 1993, Harley-Davidson discovered his motorcycle artwork and launched a long-running partnership that helped define motorcycle fine art culture. Jacobs later relocated to Deadwood, where his gallery and artwork became closely associated with the Black Hills motorcycle community and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. His work has also been licensed by Chevrolet, Ford, Mattel, Elvis Presley Enterprises and other major brands.
