If you think stock sucks, this is the only one place in Sturgis you need visit to get your fill of motorcycles that are the furthest thing from it. The custom bike scene lives at the Chip with distinctive shows happening nearly every day of Sturgis Rally. Ives Brothers’ Wall of Death – Friday, Aug. 7-Saturday, Aug. 15
Hang over the edge and watch in amazement as the world-famous Ives Brothers defy death, performing stunts on their traveling vertical wooden board track.They’ll be performing multiple daily shows throughout the rally. Check out the times posted by their motodrome and plan to take one in.

Experience the creativity, spirit and personal expression of motorcycle history and culture by visiting the Buffalo Chip’s Motorcycles as Art Exhibition. Get an up-close look at the work of some of the industry’s most influential master builders and artists during this internationally renowned exhibit curated by famed motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter.

Ride your mini bike up to the CrossRoads and start spinning in these daily flag drop, counter clockwise heats. We promise—turning left will never feel as right. Once you’re done banging bars with your buddies on the oval track, enjoy some cold brews at the Big Engine Bar to celebrate your victory.
Gambler 500 Mini Bike TT and GoPowersports Barrel Races - Friday, Aug. 7 – Saturday, Aug. 15 @ 5 p.m.
If you’ve got a need for smiles, show up with or without a bike for these daily races at Camp Zero. Go around the dam, through the bus, and into the air, for a chance to dig your savage teeth into a hunk of meaty prizes worth $2,000 from GoPowersports and Sena. A limited number of Smile Makers will be available for use thanks to Coleman Powerports, SnapFabrications and Camp Zero.
Renegades Off-Road Races – Friday, Aug. 7 & Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020
Witness flying dust, ridiculous rollovers, and speeds that will make your head spin when the separately ticketed Renegades Off-Road Races join the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s race lineup. Competitors in this two-day race event will be tearing around the award-winning track at the PowerSports Complex, with qualifying trials taking place Friday, Aug. 7 and the real deal going down Saturday, Aug. 8!
Schools Out Chopper Show – Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020
The first campers to ever pass through the Buffalo Chip gate in 1981 rode in on choppers, so it’s only fitting that this year’s full week of Buffalo Chip bike shows kicks off with a show for chopper lovers. Old school, new school and everything in between will be on display, plus you’ll have the chance to meet star chopper builders including Mondo Porras of Denver Choppers and win prizes to get you going on your next chopper build.
FLYING PISTON BREAKFAST – Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020
Kickstart your vacation with the cool kids at the Sturgis Rally by meeting the world’s front line custom builders at the Flying Piston Breakfast Benefit. This exclusive event allows you to meet and mingle with some of motorcycling’s most distinguished builders whose bikes appear in this year’s Motorcycles As Art exhibition, curated by Michael Lichter. The Sturgis Rally may be known as a motorcycle event, but the Gambler 500 boys start off their week at the Buffalo Chip by stirring things up with this free hooptie event! Everyone is welcome to bring out their favorite crap bucket and tear up some dirt with a bunch of racers (like Jason Lightner and his flying Porsche) who value fun over rules. They’ll be shredding and causing a ruckus all day at Camp Zero.
Bell Brawl at the Buffalo – Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020
Get ready to have your mind blown by some of the craziest sh*t you’ve ever seen in your life. The guys that throw down in the Bell Brawl at the Buffalo do things on big V-Twin motorcycles you literally have to see to believe. And you’ll be able to see them lay it all on the line in front of celebrity judges.
The FXR Show and Dyna Mixer – Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020
Ride in and register for free for this no-nonsense motorcycle event coordinated by Joe Mielke that brings together motorcycle riders to have fun and show and talk motorcycles. The show is all about the riders, their stories and their ride. Tons of great prizes will be awarded based on popular vote thanks to the support of many of the biggest names in the motorcycle world and aftermarket parts industry. One hundred percent of the revenue generated from donations and t-shirt sales at this show go directly to LifeScape of SD.
Legends Ride – Monday, Aug. 10, 2020
Ride and rub elbows with some of the biggest names in the biz on an awe-inspiring trip from historic Deadwood to the Legendary Buffalo Chip. Celebrities who have made appearances on The Ride That Rocks™ include Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Journey’s Neal Schon, Dee Snider, Orange County Choppers’ Paul Teutul, Sr., and the Ness family, just to name a few. One hundred percent of rider fees from the Legends Ride supports worthy local charities.
V-Twin Visionary Performance Bike Show – Monday, Aug. 10, 2020
Burn rubber and haul ass to one of the most badass bike shows to ever set up shop during the Sturgis Rally when V-Twin Visionary and Jeff G. Holt throttle the V-Twin Visionary Performance Motorcycle Show into the CrossRoads at the Buffalo Chip.
Gambler Mini Bike Endurocross - Monday, Aug. 10 @ 3:00 p.m.
A brand-new challenging race course was constructed at the Buffalo Chip’s PowerSports Complex for 2019, and this year the Gambler guys are going to invade with their incredible Coleman mini bikes! Rocks, mud and a plethora of obstacles await those brave enough to enter the dirt gauntlet. Come bang bars with your buddies at this free event at the PowerSports Complex, then enjoy some cold brews after the race while celebrating victory and bitching about battle wounds.
Sasha’s Cycles Rodeo Games – Monday Aug. 10, 2020
Celebrate choppers, talk chop and have a good time during an evening of old-school rodeo games at Camp Zero! Saddle up for some games like the cowboy barrel cross, rail ride, highway cones, weenie grab, slow races, barrel races and more. The Rat’s Hole brings together an impressive crew of international judges and builders—one group vying for the titles, the other looking to find a bike with personality, function and a progressive sense of motorcycle culture.
