Now, thanks to Black Hills Harley-Davidson and Strider, 900 local kids each year could be picking up on that passion before they even hit the first grade.

When your first rodeo was long ago and you’re now known as “one of the usual suspects,” you can do your thing without raising eyebrows around you.
That kind of seamless integration is key if you’re an event photographer trying to capture the greatest moments. Especially when the event you’re capturing is The Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling®, and there are more goings-on than you can realistically attend.

Blending in—it’s a practice lots of us suffer through in our day-to-day lives. But during the annual motorcycle and music festival many equate with “Adult Disneyland,” it’s a practice most folks stray from.
That is, unless you’re a great photographer.
Truly capturing all the beautiful insanity that unfolds during two magical weeks at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip requires full assimilation. You’ve gotta embrace your surroundings, make friends with your subjects and get right in the middle of their mischief.

For those of us in the Midwest, frigid temps and parked rides can be a less desirable pairing we’re forced to contend with. That is, until the annual Midwest Extravaganza known as the Donnie Smith Bike & Car Show finally pulls us out of hibernation for the unofficial kickoff to riding season.
