Meet John Driskell Hopkins

Zac Brown Band

John Driskell Hopkins is best known for his role as a founding member, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter for the Grammy Award Winning group Zac Brown Band. Hopkins co-wrote the band’s singles “Toes,” “Goodbye in Her Eyes,” “Heavy Is the Head.” Hopkins met Zac Brown during an open mic night Hopkins was hosting, and soon after the two began recording and touring the region together. Hopkins spent several months sitting in with Brown while he looked for a bass player, but after the he saw how effortlessly the two could play together, he decided it would become his permanent gig. Hopkins, along with the rest of the Zac Brown Band has performed on the legendary Buffalo Chip’s main stage twice—in 2012 and 2014.
