Meet Kim Dozier

Kim Dozier covers special operations and counterterrorism for The Daily Beast. Prior to this assignment, Dozier spent four years on the intelligence beat for The Associated Press, making several trips to cover the war in Afghanistan and terrorism in Pakistan. From 2007 to 2010, she covered national security for CBS News in Washington. In a 14-year career overseas, Dozier covered the Middle East and Europe as a CBS News TV correspondent, covering conflict zones including Iraq, Israel, the Palestinian territories, Kosovo and Northern Ireland. Earlier, she worked for The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle and the BBC World Service. In 2006, Dozier was wounded in an Iraqi car bombing, and she later recounted the attack and subsequent recovery in her memoir “Breathing the Fire: Fighting to Survive and Get Back to the Fight.” Dozier is a recipient of the Peabody Award, many Edward R. Murrow Awards and was also the first female journalist recognized by the National Medal of Honor Society for her coverage of Iraq.
