Meet Leah Misch

MOTO JOURNALIST & INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER

“SHIFTING GEARS” PANELIST - 2018

After surviving an abusive relationship and finding herself morbidly obese and disconnected from family and friends, Leah began a journey of discovering passions in her life by creating her bucket list. This was a list of goals she never thought possible to achieve.

In 2010, Leah created a community support fitness team and called it “You Go Girl,” which were the words her mother told her growing up. Together the team supported members towards leading a physically active lifestyle. During this same time Leah began her own journey of overcoming morbid obesity and reversed premature chronic conditions through diet and exercise.

With this new zest of life, she also learned to ride a motorcycle and even ran her first 5k.  Leah’s new found passions were put to a halt after a motorcycle accident nearly left her paralyzed. As Leah continued to recover from her injuries she remembered the feeling she had when she ran her first 5k. It was something she never thought she could do being 90 pounds heavier.

Leah continued to recover from her injuries. She slowly started walking, jogging, and running again!  Running races taught Leah determination and perseverance. After her first half marathon, Leah was motivated to overcome her fears and start riding a motorcycle again. Since then she completed numerous marathons and travelled 32 states with a goal to travel all of the states on her motorcycle.

Leah seized the opportunity to combine her love for motorcycling with another passion of travelling. She first began solo travels around the Midwest.  Eventually she outgrew her 650 Suzuki Boulevard and purchased a new Indian Scout in 2015 and embarked on a 10,000 mile Journey over 50 days while maintaining her remote job as a nurse health coach.
