Meet Marjorie Kleiman

MOTO-JOURNALIST

Marjorie Kleiman, a.k.a. Shadow, is a veteran moto-journalist, having worked with a number of major motorcycle magazines such as Thunder Press where she was Editor-in-Chief, American Iron Magazine where she served as a columnist and contributor, industry publication American Iron Retailer, where she was the inaugural editor, and Cycle Source Magazine where she contributes articles and photographs, among numerous other magazines. She has worked at Black Hills Custom Parts, an independent motorcycle shop in New Jersey, and still lends a hand there from time to time. Marjorie is a member of the AMCA, with active participation in the Colonial (NJ), Bear Mountain (NY), and Riveter chapters. Her oldest motorcycle is a 1982 Harley-Davidson FXRS, and her newest, a 2017 H-D Road King.

Since 2021, Marjorie has been involved with the Motorcycle Cannonball and the Cross Country Chase, serving as public relations and media staff. She is also on staff for the Donnie Smith Bike Show as photographer and social media specialist. In 2020 and 2021, she was associate producer for the Source Media multicast show Cannonball Chronicles, and is currently working on a biography of the much-loved Pulsating Paula, who photographed for Biker Lifestyle, Tattoo Magazine, and other Paisano Publications in the 1980s and 1990s.

Marjorie has also been a member of the Chix on 66 ride planning committee since its inception in June 2021, and once the Riveter Chapter was formed, she has been an advisor to the board. Drawing from her industry knowledge and experience, Marjorie has provided the marketing and media support that is required for a ride of this magnitude. She handles event press releases, has secured valuable sponsorships, and assists with social media posts. She is the contact between the Chix event and many of our partners and sponsors, and she coordinated an oil change sponsorship that provided all Chix riders with the opportunity to change oil and fluids as needed to maintain their bikes on the route.
