Carol’s journey at the Buffalo Chip traces back nearly three and a half decades, starting in 1990. Picture her then, stationed in the ticket office, deftly exchanging cash for wristbands tucked snugly into her apron pockets.
Before long, Carol found herself moved to an in-office role, where she remains to this day. What began as reconciling ticket sales evolved into overseeing reservations and box office operations, serving as the Buffalo Chip’s Chief Finance Officer.
Behind this impressive professional trajectory lies a story of grit and determination ingrained in Carol’s very roots. Raised on a ranch in Northwest South Dakota, she is no stranger to hard work. From tending to the herd to tackling all manner of ranch tasks, Carol’s upbringing laid the foundation for her unwavering work ethic.
After graduating from Black Hills State University with a degree in Elementary Education, Carol dedicated a quarter-century of her life to shaping young minds within the Spearfish, SD school system until retiring in 2005 to focus solely on the Buffalo Chip.
Carol embodies the essence of resilience, seamlessly transitioning from the rugged terrain of ranch life to the corridors of education and finally to the dynamic realm of finance at the Buffalo Chip. Her story serves as a testament to the transformative power of hard work, determination, and an unyielding spirit.
