Sublime with Rome appears at Sturgis Buffalo Chip

Sublime with Rome will make their rally debut at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip this year with the unique fusion sound of ska, reggae, punk, surf rock and hip hop to the Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling.

Sublime with Rome was formed in Long Beach, CA in 1988 and released three albums, selling more than 17 million albums worldwide. The band has not performed together for more than a decade after the untimely death of their vocalist and guitarist Bradley Nowell in 1996. Prior to his passing, Subime brought audiences worldwide a captivating sound that was like nothing ever heard before. The band returned in 2009 with the fresh new sound of 23-year-old songwriter Rome Ramirez  as the new voice of the band.  Their debut album, “Yours Truly” was released in July of 2011 and Sublime with Rome will now bring their new sound to join an amazing lineup of artists at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip.

Sublime with Rome’s new album fuses together where Sublime left off and builds on the fresh infusion of energy brought to the newly reformed band from Rome, who brought the lyrics, melodies, and chords he had written. The new sound picks up on the reggae dancehall style that the band had explored, with a slight punk and rock-pop feel as well.

“The Buffalo Chip is so pleased Sublime with Rome decided to make their rally debut with us,” Buffalo Chip owner Rod Woodruff said. “Their amazing one of a kind sound and phenomenal stage show is going to get the Chip rock’n like no other can do.”

Sublime with Rome will rock the stage on Saturday, Aug. 11 with their top hits “What I Got,” “Santeria,” “Date Rape,” and “Wrong Way” along with other songs fresh off their new album. Sublime with Rome joins Eric Church, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Journey, Zac Brown Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sugarland, BOSTON, Candlebox, Buckcherry, Saving Abel, Loverboy, Shinedown, Adelitas Way and more.
