Sturgis Buffalo Chip® Delivers More Music than Ever Before

Sturgis, SD (August 2, 2014) – With nearly 50 bands booked to perform at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip, live music will be filling the campground nearly continuously throughout the 9-day festival. Billed as the Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling™, the Buffalo Chip is living up to its reputation. In addition to the top name entertainment performing on the Wolfman Jack Main Stage each evening, bands will be taking the Showcase stages located throughout the campground during the day and late into the night to entertain the sea of campers.

Saturday’s performances on the main stage will include Lovebettie, rally favorites, Queensrÿche and headliners post-punk hard rockers, The Cult. The Sunday’s star-studded spectacular on the Wolfman Jack Main Stage kicks off with 23-year-old blues guitar phenom, Jared James Nichols followed by Collective Soul, performing hit after number one hit. Southern rock gods, Lynyrd Skynyrd will headline the night, taking the stage at 10:30pm.

The Russ Brown Events Center will also be a hot spot on Saturday with the opening of the Motorcycles as Art Exhibit, curated by renowned motorcycle photographer, Michael Lichter, and co-curated by vintage motorcycle enthusiast, Paul D’Orleans. The 2014 exhibit entitled, “Built for Speed – Race Inspired Custom Motorcycles & Art,” will be open to the public from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. beginning on Saturday.

The Buffalo Chip continues the non-stop party Monday with the annual Legends Ride, a star-studded guided ride through the scenic Black Hills. Over the years, this event has hosted some of the biggest names in television, film, music and motorcycling, all in the name of raising funds for local charities like the Black Hills Special Olympics. The 2014 Legends Ride welcomes the Zac Brown Band, Frank Fritz and Mike Wolf of the History Channel’s “American Pickers,” actress Kristy Swanson, Arlen, Cory and Zach Ness among many other celebrities and dignitaries.

“The Legends Ride truly showcases the caring nature and generosity of motorcyclists,” says Rod Woodruff, president of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “Black Hills Special Olympics and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum count on these funds to operate throughout the year and there’s nothing more gratifying than seeing these celebrities and fans come together for the common good.”

Those participating in the Legends Ride will return to the Buffalo Chip in time to catch an electrifying main stage performance from country-rockers, Zac Brown Band, blues legend, John Mayall and The 4onthefloor.

Campground admission passes are still available and all concerts are free with camping. Passes also grant guests access to the Bikini Beach swim paradise, 25 bars, thrilling exhibits, and outrageous events.
