The Sturgis Buffalo Chip® had the chance to chat with the members of Fuel, one of the Rock the Holidays Guitar Sweepstakes bands, just before their Sturgis Rally performance on Aug. 10, 2013. Check out this exclusive interview and hear the band give Buffalo Chip owner, Rod Woodruff, the inside scoop on their new album.

Being huge Fuel fans, we wanted to know what else the band has been up to since the Sturgis Rally, what they thought about playing at the Legendary Buffalo Chip and if they had an update on their highly anticipated album. So we caught up with Fuel front man, Brett Scallions, to find out!

Is there an anticipated release date for the upcoming album?
The record is done. It will be released in the first part of 2014. Keep checking our website www.fuelrocks.com for info on the new album.

Other than the upcoming album, what else can we expect from Fuel in the coming months?
Touring, touring, and more touring. We plan to play some shows too.

What was it like recording with The Doors’ Robby Krieger?
Robby has been a friend to me for quite a few years. Having the opportunity to perform on stage was a dream come true. Actually recording a song together was so far beyond that dream that I still pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming and that it actually happened. Robby is and always will be a rock legend.

Is there anything in particular you enjoyed about playing at the Buffalo Chip?
The Sturgis Bike Rally has grown to epic proportions over the years. The Buffalo Chip is a major contributor to that success. It is by far one of the coolest venues in the world.

How does the Sturgis Buffalo Chip differ from other venues at which you’ve performed?
It’s one of the few venues that you’ll be applauded with loud exhaust. God bless the biker community.
