Whether it’s checking out the newest accessories, looking for ideas or shopping for the parts to put it all together, the Donnie Smith Bike Show is the place to get it done. Here you’ll see pro bikes up against garage builds and even some ambitious high school teams. Everyone is looking to pit their winter projects up against the best.

Participants in the 2015 Buffalo Chip Challenge™ motorcycle mentorship program traveled to the Donnie Smith Bike Show for the fourth year to compete with two bikes they built under the instruction of the industry’s top builders. The 2015 program, When Two Legends Collide, marked the first time the Challenge has been split into two teams—Team Indian and Team Harley. Chris Malo of Baggster led Team Indian to build a John Shope Signature 2014 Indian Chieftain and Nick and Randy Cramer led Team Harley to build a Paul Yaffe Signature Harley-Davidson Road King. After spending months putting their custom builds together, 10 students earned the right to travel with the bikes to St. Paul, Minn. and show them to the world. Check out this episode of Sturgis Rider® TV to see what happened when the two teams went head to head at their first custom bike show.
