Make Way for Fort Meade Way!
June 6, 2016 Update: Road Now Open!
The decades-long effort to complete Fort Meade Way has finally come to fruition as the road officially opened on June 6, 2016. This opening date is nearly two months ahead of the original target date of July 25th. The roadway is a direct 5.6-mile shortcut from I-90 exit 37 to the front gate of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®.

Full Throttle Saloon Fire Destroys Famous Sturgis Rally Destination
A fire destroyed a famous Sturgis Rally destination during the early hours of Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. The initial call came in just after midnight, and only three hours later the Full Throttle Saloon had completely burned to the ground. An investigation into the cause of the blaze that decimated the self-proclaimed “World’s Largest Biker Bar” concluded on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015. Twist the Throttle: South Dakota Speed Limit Raised on Interstate Highways
If you’ve ever traveled on I-90 or I-29 through South Dakota, you’ve likely noticed the 75 mph speed limit signs and the multitude of motorists who blow right by them at a minimum of 80 mph anyway. Maybe you’re one of those speed demons in the passing lane on your way to the Sturgis Rally, or maybe you’re watching license plates cruise on by you. Either way you’ll want to listen up, because an amendment to South Dakota Senate Bill 1 passed Tuesday, effectively changing the speed limit on the state’s two interstate highways.
