Local Band’s Scorching Performance Heats Up Sturgis Music Festival
Spearfish, SD band, Fire Nuns, serve up some Black Hills flavor in a series of Sturgis concerts at the Largest Music Festival in Motorcycling™. The group formed in 2010 when its members were all still attending high school just a short ride up from the Buffalo Chip’s Sturgis music festival. But don’t be fooled by the age of these young artists. They know their stuff!
Fire Nuns released their first album, “Dad, Jr.” in March 2013. Drawing inspiration from bands across the board, this three-piece band skillfully blends intricate riffs, heavy distortion, story-like lyrics and a bit of ‘60s nostalgia. The result is a colorful mixture of original songs with tongue-in-cheek titles like “Mexican Leisure Suit,” “Everybody’s Perfect” and “Recreational Paleontology.”
