The undisputed epicenter of Sturgis Rally Week – the Legendary Buffalo Chip –  is the best source of high-octane partying. And Buffalo Chip is recognized for world-class philanthropy. During the renowned nine-day salute to bikers, the Chip affords Sturgis Rally vacationers an array of entertainment, vendors, art, food and other amenities as well as providing Sturgis Rally bikers an assortment of opportunities to help the less fortunate.
This year, the Buffalo Chip, in conjunction with Interstate Battery System of America, has created a program to raise money to benefit the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame and the Black Hills Children’s Home. Interstate Batteries and the Chip are giving you the power to raise money by simply going online and purchasing any of twenty commonly-used batteries. Once purchased 40 percent of the purchase will be sent directly to those charities. So each charity will receive a monthly check for twenty percent of the total purchases.
Just visit www.buffalochip.com and click on the link for Interstate Batteries. You’ll need to enter the code: ‘chippower.’ Your purchase will reflect that the batteries were ordered pursuant to this agreement. Your batteries will then be shipped to you free of shipping and handling charges. The  correct code must be entered and the ‘Shop Now’ button clicked for the contributions to be made.
The Legendary Buffalo Chip raised a record-breaking $61,600 during the 2009 Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally through the Second Annual Legends Ride. That money went to the The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and the Black Hills Children’s Home, which offers a safe haven for kids aged 4-13, many of whom are severe abuse and neglect victims.
“We pride ourselves in providing bikers with the true Sturgis experience while also providing a great service to the less fortunate,” said Rod Woodruff, campground owner. “We are ecstatic about partnering with Interstate Batteries to raise money for Black Hills area charities and this is merely one aspect of a charity-minded Sturgis Rally Week 2010 at The Buffalo Chip. We’re here to show the world bikers are a very generous and bighearted bunch.”
