Learn Biker Lingo with this Handy Guide

Bikers are a different breed. We are loyal to a unique culture that lovingly embraces cool customizations, high-octane engines and a thirst for the open road. Depending on how deep our roots go and how we were raised, some of us may also speak somewhat of a different language. Do you personally use “biker terms” that could confuse a non-biker when you speak, or do you know anyone who does? Here’s a list of 13 terms that just might mean something completely different to guys called Wrench, Tiny, and Joker than to a guy who simply goes by Cornelius.

Pappy Hoel incorporates motorcycle stunts into Sturgis Rally

Most bikers have a need for speed; it’s in their DNA. So it should come as no surprise that one of the world’s largest motorcycle events—the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally—started as an annual series of flat-track races. What is surprising, however, is that rally founder Clarence “Pappy” Hoel was never himself particularly interested in speed racing. So what was he really into? The second article in our series revealing the events and moments that shaped Sturgis history will explain how Pappy incorporated his true love into the event by stunning friends and onlookers with some pretty wild and surprising antics. We’ll also reveal how and where that crazy spirit still lives on today.

Buffalo Chip PowerSports Complex Named “Track of the Year”

Sturgis, SD (November 12, 2014) – The American Motorcyclist Association’s ATV Extreme Dirt Racing has awarded the Buffalo Chip’s PowerSports Complex the honor of “Track of the Year” for 2014. Racers participating in the national series, along with EDT officials, chose the Buffalo Chip as their hands-down favorite after being asked to vote for the best overall track and facility.
