Unique Sturgis Bar and Playground for Grown-Ups Keeps the Party Going Well into the Night
Just inside the West amphitheater entrance, under the big glowing buffalo skull, you’ll find the Kinison Playground stage, bar and dance floor. Named after late comedian and early Buffalo Chip performer, Sam Kinison, the stage is home a wide variety of high-energy showcase bands, side-splitting comedians, outrageous events and alluring dancers.
The bands on the Kinison Stage ensure that there’s never a break between concerts during the Chip’s August music festival. In between sets on the main stage, the band on the Kinison fires up. Stick around for the powerful late night shows, as this showcase stage also keeps the party going well into the night!
The Kinison Stage has a unique “adult playground” vibe, which is why at the August music festival it’s known as the Kinison Playground. The stage boasts its own go-go dancers and a large covered dance floor with two dancing poles. After dark, things heat up with Kinison’s own fire dancers, who enhance on-stage performances with their sensual dances and breath-taking aerial stunts. The area also features the famous Steel Bars, where you can ride your bike up to watch bands from above or blow spectators away with your best burnout.<
Of course, no playground would be complete without its own school bus. Fittingly, the Kinson Stage sits next to a one-of-a-kind Sturgis bar that’s made from one! With the good ol’ Bus Bar, a frosty drink is only steps away from the dance floor.
Be sure to check out the crazy spectacles unique to the Kinison Playground including the World Pickle Lickin’ Federation’s Championship Pickle Lickin’ Contest and the Ultimate Burnout Contest.
Don’t miss the action at any of the stages or Sturgis bars. Reserve your place at the Chip’s August music festival now!
